    Bridesburg Needham Conversion 1861/1863 Musket
    Manufactured as a muzzle loading percussion musket Model 1861 this was converted to .58 calibre centrefire metallic cartridge by N.J. Needham of Trenton, New Jersey with the patented side swing breechblock. These rifles were used twice for the invasion of Canada by the Fenian Brotherhood, in 1866 as the original musket and in 1870 as the converted rifle. Very good original condition, stock has been cleaned and oiled. Stock flat on left side of rifle has a Fenian mark, namely the letters IN, thought to mean Irish Nationalists. Butt plate tang has US marking.

    British 1812 Indian Allies pistol converted to percussion
    During the War of 1812 the British military supplied their Indian Allies with arms including this pistol which was usually given to Indian Chiefs and frequently handed down through family members after the war. This example was originally flintlock but has been converted to percussion as was popular at the time and much easier to load and fire. British proof marked barrel, broad arrow marked on the lock and totally correct. Maker is Loundes, a less common maker. Does not cock, missing ramrod.

    British Sea Service Pistol Pattern 1842 .62 calibre
    British Royal Navy issue sea service pistol Pattern 1842. .62 calibre, smoothbore. Lock marked VR Tower and dated 1846. British Proof marked on barrel. Board of Ordnance marked on stock. Complete with belt clip, original and nicely marked. Brass tang has rack number indicating this pistol was issued for use. Hammer is fully functional, cocks and releases crisply. Part of the hammer screw head is broken off long ago, but it is original and this does not affect the functioning of the pistol. Overall 11 ½ inches in length. Has uncommon additional ring on lanyard ring.

    Original condition Brown Bess musket. Possibly unfired, no pitting at all in the flash pan or around the touch hole. Bore shows no pitting. The end of the ramrod has had a “pigs tail” twisted onto it in order to help remove an unfired charge, very uncommon. Sling swivel missing from the front of the trigger guard. Antique, no licence required to purchase or own. This would be an excellent addition to anyone’s collection.

    27 1/2 inch barrel with wooden stock cut down. British proof marks. Lock marked Frank Barnes, Tower Hill, London maker mark faintly visible. Stock has been cleaned and refinished some time ago and retains brass butt plate and brass cartridge trap. End of barrel at muzzle has a flat spot, reason unknown but may be the result of fitting a socket bayonet. lmost no original finish remaining on metal with surface pitting on both and grey patina throughout. Interesting rifle as is or may make the basis of a restoration project. Caliber is .69 inch

    British manufacture, receiver marked Crown over VR, Enfield 1870. Enfield cartouche visible on butt stock with out of service arrows above. But tang has regimental numbers and War Department acceptance stamp. British proofs and WD marks on receiver and barrel. Has rear sight cover screws on both sides of stock and 2 piece cleaning rod in butt trap. Saddle ring added to stock behind trigger guard tang by Portugese but no markings anywhere to indicate Portugese proof or acceptance. Bore is excellent.
