Known as the Cavalry Short Carbine this rifle was made in the USA by Remington. Also known as the Remington Patria it is a Remington Rolling Block carbine used from 1879 to 1891 by Argentine forces then by provincial police forces in Argentina. The calibre is . 43 Spanish Mauser with octogonal chamber. There was no provision for a saddle ring. This specimen is original GOOD to VERY GOOD condition and has kill notches on the underside of the stock. Visible in the photos. Antique firearm.
