    Austrian Lorenz Model 1854 socket bayonet
    Distinctive diagonal mortise slot and 4 sided or flattened cruciform blade. Blade length 482mm, socket 18mm, socket length 80mm. Quantities of these were used by Confederate troops in the US civil war. This specimen is in relic condition with one spot of considerable rust-through on the blade resulting in a slight bend at that point.

Guaranteed original, VG condition overall with some pitting on blade at ricasso showing issue and use. All steel 21 7/8 inch blade with 5 3/4 inch long false edge. 1 3/16 inches wide at hilt and 1/4 inch thick. Tight and well made, a fascinating artifact of the early firearms trade in colonial Nepal.

    Belgian Model 1916 bayonet
    Original Belgian World War One bayonet for use with the 7.65mm Model 1899 Mauser rifle and carbine. Slender double edge bayonet is uniquely Belgian. Manufactured from 1916 to 1924 at Manufacture D'Armes de le Etat (State Arms Manufacturer) Liege and marked with an "L" inside a square at the pommel. Muzzle ring is the larger 17.5mm diameter for the early Mauser rifle and carbine. Will not fit the later 1924, 24/30 and 1930 rifles and carbines. Blade is 448mm, overall 569mm with double sided blade. Very good condition including original steel scabbard. An uncommon bayonet.

Socket diameter at muzzle end is 7/8 inch. Blade length actual is 12 ½ inches and to front of socket is 13 ¼ inches. Marked as shown in photographs. Original.

  17. BA1475 British No. 8 Bayonet RARE

    British No. 8 Bayonet RARE
    The No. 8 bayonet looks very much like the No. 5 bayonet with the knife like blade of that era but the muzzle ring diameter is 14.8mm as opposed to 22.6mm on the No. 5. It was developed for the 7.92 SLEM (Self Loading Experimental Model) rifle but was never adopted and is classed as a trials bayonet. This specimen has a P for Poole maker marked in the ricasso and dated 1946. It has seen considerable use/abuse and the tip is broken as shown in photo. Nevertheless, it is a rare bayonet by its mere existence.

Original VG condition, nicely marked and proofed with unit marking at pommel. Brass cross guard and handle with (British) unit marking of A over 2 over BR at pommel. Missing catch button, easily made by new owner.

    Double edge Roman pattern spear point blade with short fuller and remnant of leather washer at cross guard. Blade marked ENFIELD and Crown over GR. Date partially obscured. Original VG condition, nicely marked and proofed with unit marking at pommel. Interesting to note the small but deliberate pattern of “nicks” on the spine of the blade which we are advised were put there by swordsmiths or armourers.
