  2. BA1184 Pattern 1907 bayonet Wilkinson Pall Mall marked

Pattern 1907 bayonet Wilkinson Pall Mall marked
British Pattern 1907 bayonet manufactured and marked Wilkinson Pall Mall, making it an unusual variant, somewhat researchable. The common dither has it that the Pall Mall marked P1907 bayonets were a separate contract production made only during the years of World War One. In any case, an interesting twist on the beautiful and highly functional Pattern 1907 sword bayonet.

  16. BA865 Ross 1910 Bayonet US marked

    Ross 1910 Bayonet US marked
Ross 1910 bayonet sharpened in the field to a more defined point, according to orders, to enable the bayonet to penetrate thick Imperial German uniforms and great coats. The left side of the pommel, which normally has dates and Canadian broad arrow acceptance mark is scrubbed clean. The opposite side of the pommel is marked MSP 142, and the normal Ross Rifle Company information. The MSP marking is a bit of a mystery but thought to be Michigan State Police - a security group formed in 1917 after the US declared war on Germany and armed with Ross Rifles, which at that point were withdrawn from service at the front. Wood grips are not US marked but the leather scabbard is marked US and shows signs of the flaming bomb symbol, as well as normal Canadian acceptance marks to be expected. Interesting variant.
