Indian SMLE bayonet No. 1 Mk III with RFI made Mk II blade

Indian-made sword bayonet for use with the SMLE rifle. The Mk III variant was the last, and crudest production type, with a simple square pommel, and rectangular grips. Ricasso is crisply marked with Crown over GRI and Mk II, dated November 1944 (11 44), R.F.I. Rifle Factory Ishapore. Some viewers marks on opposite side of unfullered blade which has a false edge. Very interesting Pattern 1907 bayonet variant. No scabbard.
