    Siamese Lee Enfiled No. 1 Mk III* "Smiling Tiger Rifle"
    Deactivated Siamese Lee Enfield No.1 Mk.3*. Only 10,000 of these rifles were ordered on contract from BSA in 1920 by King Vajiravudh also know as Rama VI ordered for his volunteer force "The Wild Tigers". Most were destroyed during the Japanese invasion of WW2 and many others rotted away in the Jungle climate. On the right hand butt socket instead of the usual British Stamps there's the Wild Tiger's logo and the Siamese script "Rama VI Model 2462" which translates as the Buddhist year of 1919. Referred to as "Smiling Tiger Model". Brass butt disc unmarked. Complete with web sling and stacking swivel. Bolt opens, cocks & clicks, mag is removable. Great display piece.
