Webley & Scott No. 4 Mk 1* Flare Pistol with barrel extension
Calibre 1.5 inch. Webley No.4 Mk1* Aircraft flare pistol, VG+ condition, broad arrow marked. Webley designed this signal pistol especially for use in aircraft. It was to be mounted onto a bracket fixed to the walls of an aircraft. The one & half inch round had to be inserted into the barrel first, after firing the gun was then removed from the bracket in order for it to be reloaded. These pistols would fire a variety of coloured flares, each with a different meaning. Comes with the rare barrel extension which is removable, or added on, whichever you prefer, and may be a post war modification by Canada. Pistol is broad arrow marked and in VG mechanical condition. Appears to be post war arsenal refurbished.
