German World War Two Model 24 (M24) stick grenade

Very nice early specimen with matching maker marks (RR517 1940) on canister and handle, 1940 dated. Waffenamt visible on handle as shown in photo. Canister is stencilled K4 9/40 in ink, still clearly visible. This specimen is unusual in that the canister has been emptied by uncrimping around the edge then recrimping, a very time consuming process and quite well done. There is no ceramic ball, string or fuze mechanism present. Aluminum end cap. A premium example of the Model 24 stick grenade. The canister has a thin coat of varnish so some restoration may be required by purchaser to remove this.
