German Model 1914 Rod grenade body with fired fuze
The German Model 1914 rod grenade was a very advanced ordnance item for the era. It has a complicated and well made nose fuze as well as a cup shaped ranging disk. The nose fuze is very advanced yet simple to use. The safety pin is removed from the fuze, screwed in to the grenade and it’s ready to launch. The ranging disk had 3 positions to determine the distance of travel. This specimen is supplied with a fired fuze. The ranging disk and rod are missing. Very interesting WWI artifact. Rod grenades were replaced by cup discharger grenades in 1917.

  20. BA1285 French Model 1842 Yataghan bayonet

    French Model 1842 Yataghan bayonet
Yataghan sword bayonet for use with the .71 caliber M1829/46 Artillery Carbine and others. This bayonet developed from the French Model 1840 and has a longer, heavier blade and steel crossguard instead of brass. The Model 1842 was replaced by the more common Chassepot 1866 bayonet. The Model 1842 resembles a much heavier version of that bayonet. A refinement of the world's first yataghan sword bayonet, the M1840, the M1842 had a longer, heavier blade and replaced the M1840's brass crosspiece with steel. The M1842 was a forerunner of the M1866. The M1842 blade is heavier than the M1866, as is the scabbard. Original good condition, blade is very good with no nicks on edge. Scabbard is rusted with minor dents near the tip. Made at Chatellerault Armoury in 1856.

  70. BA1280 US M3 Combat Knife

    US M3 Combat Knife
The M3 American combat knife was developed in 1943, the handle is stacked leather. The 6 5/8 inch blade is double-edged, stiletto type, and the scabbard is leather. This example has no markings anywhere, but the ricasso has been shortened on one side sometime in the past and the maker possibly ground off. There has also been a lanyard ring added to the top of the pommel which some sources say may have been intended for CB (Construction Battalion) issue but we cannot verify that. The scabbard is correct for this knife but is missing the button fasteners and strap that secure the knife.

    US M3 Combat Knife
The M3 American combat knife was developed in 1943 and was one of the most successful fighting knives. The design consists of a round metal pommel and a handle of compressed leather discs.Blade is double-edged, stiletto type. This example is stamped CASE on the crossguard, one of ten different manufacturers of the M3, and condition overall is very good. The scabbard is the early version leather one with metal rivets and wire loop belt hanger. We suspect the scabbard is a very good reproduction aged to match the knife.
