Trench art/souvenir with German WWI Kugel grenade

A souvenir item made by French craftsmen after the war to sell to tourists and occupation troops. Base is a cut down 4.5 inch Howitzer casing marked 4.5 HOWR, 1916 dated and C broad arrow marked indicating Canadian use. On the sides of the case are 4 very nicely made French enameled medallions with the classic Gallic Rooster, the unofficial symbol of France. There is a British artillery fuze, broad arrow marked, 11/16 dated holding up the star of the show, a German WWI Kugelhangranate Model 1915 in VG+ condition. It appears to have been used as an ashtray. Quite an interesting collectable as it is but may be disassembled to salvage the individual parts, each one being collectable by themselves.
