Pickelhaube Prussian Steel construction

Original Prussian Pickelhaube, steel construction with original field grey paint. May be a private purchase helmet circa late 1915, early 1916. Paint has rough field applied brush strokes outside and inside the helmet shell. Leather liner is not pickelhaube original but a period replacement 7 flap liner treated with a preservative. Helmet place and spike are brass, original installations. Roundels are reproduction. Chinstrap is supplied with this and is thin leather, probably a later reproduction and is broken. An uncommon steel Pickelhaube, the last version before moving to the M16 Stalhelm.
