German made with similar design to the German Mauser sawback 1871 bayonet. The hilt is brass with steel cross guard. Quillon is uniquely sloped to the rear. This bayonet was manufactured exclusively for the Boer Settlements in South Africa who had two wars with the British. Very uncommon, even rare bayonet. No scabbard present with this example.
