    Mosin Nagant Model 1891 - German Capture - Finnish Use
    7.62 X54R calibre, 1905 manufacture at Izhevsk arsenal Russia. Barrel has been counter bored, rifling is sharp and shiny. Some minor surface pitting. Bolt is not matching, butt plate and magazine floor plate are not numbered. This rifle has had an amazing journey through the 20th century wars during its 109 year history. Built for the Czars army during the Russo Japanese War and then serving with his army in WW1. Captured by the Germans during the war, They stamped their "Deutsches Reich " with the German Imperial Eagle over the original Russian arsenal cartouche. In the 1920s the Germans sold it to newly liberated Finland who altered the rear sight settings, attached sling swivels and stamped it with their "SA" stamp. It served with the Finnish army during the Winter War of 1939 - 40 and then again during the Continuation War of 1941 -44. Complete with Finnish military leather sling.

This rifle was one of the first 1000 produced in 1886. Complete with magazine cut-off and unusual side mounted cleaning rod
