  2. Israeli Balashnikov Rifle

    Israeli Balashnikov Rifle
The Balashnikov was the precursor to the Galil assault rifle. It was a modified AKM chambered for 5.56 ammunition and featured a modified stock, handguard and iron sights, as well as a bipod. The Israeli army captured many Russian arms from Egypt during the Six Day War (1967) and modified existing rifles to 5.56 calibre, made changes to the stock, added a carrying handle and bipod and this rifle led to the development of the Galil assault rifle. One of the early designers was Yisrael Galili, who was born Balashnikov hence the converted AKM being named after him. This specimen, likely the only one in Canada, does not have the bipod and is missing the magazine. Ignore the listed price, it is a place keeper only. This rifle is being sold on a Price on Request basis for very serious collectors only. Contact us for further information. Registered FA.
