Civilian gas mask/respirator Cold War Era

This model is the US made CD V-800 (M16) civilian gas mask developed for use in the late 1950’s as Cold War tension was rising. It was made by Firestone Rubber and issued circa 1957, staying in service until 1975. The respirator uses WWII components including an original and unopened filter canister dated 1945. Included in the kit is an unopened anti-dim cloth in original canister and an individual protective cover (gas cape) dated 1945. Very interesting and complete Cold War collectable.
